NO COACHES, NO REFEREES, NO GAMES...

Clinics are upcoming and Richmond Lacrosse pays the clinic fee. Adult refs are needed especially, and because Field is a game of Gentlemen, abuse is not tolerated.

In addition, players can benefit from a deeper knowledge of the game by becoming officials as well, plus it allows giving back to the game. Chris Manwaring is a fine example of a player who deepened his knowledge of the game by officiating and it helped him make it to the NCAA level.

HIGH SCHOOL AGED PLAYERS CAN EARN PROVINCIAL-SPONSORED HIGH SCHOOL CREDITS BY REFEREEING OR COACHING!! (AND STILL GET GAME FEE FOR REFEREEING)

COACHING level 1 clinic Sept 18th, level 2 Sept 25th, both at Douglas College in New West.

OFFICIATING level 1/2 clinics on Sept 18th in Coquitlam and Oct 2nd in New West. If you are NEW official Sept 18th is the clinic you should attend as games start the next day.

Richmond Lacrosse Association’s Intermediate A team enjoyed a promising first season, highlighted by rookie coach Matt Miyashita being awarded the B.C. Intermediate Lacrosse League Coach of the Year honour.

Miyashita was joined on the podium by Tyler Nett, named to the six-man provincial all-star team, and Jakob Doucet who won the most sportsmanlike player of the year award. To cap the hardware tally, the Roadrunners won the most sportsmanlike team award in the league.

The 2011 season has all the makings to be a huge success for the Richmond team, as all but three players are eligible to return. The awards should make us all proud!

MESSAGE FROM PAUL SAHOTA
I extend my sincere appreciation to everyone that has come together in my absence to provision our upcoming field season and Aug 21st event. I single out both Dan Mason and Scott Jensen: Dan generously obligating the majority of support with respect to the duties associated with the position of VP Field, I point out that Dan has proffered his support since the time of my accident, coupling this with his responsibilities as head official for Richmond Field.

Scott does not have children involved with field lacrosse and he has demonstrated significant passion for the game, dedication to the players, loyalty to our association and strength of character that we can all benefit from learning.
It is my honor to be associated with people of this caliber and integrity.
I thank you Gentlemen; I thank you all; my gratitude hath no bound.

I thank you in advance for your considerations.

Regards,
Paul Sahota

News: GOLD AND SILVER FOR RICHMOND FIELD TEAMS IN VICTORIA!
Posted by Dan Mason, Last Updated: 30 days ago

Roadrunner U16's won gold, the U12's worked their tails off for Silver and the U14s finished at 1-and-2 at the Tier 2 Provincials in Victoria.

The U12's meanwhile were led to silver by their strongest team efforts at the right time of the season. From their gunners Sam Evanson and Chase Pretti-Pearsall to the all around play of the likes of Kieran McKay, William Dewerson and Cooper Yates to the goaltending of Luke Steenge it really was a total team effort. Timely goals by Jack Nett and the first-ever Field goal for Marc Sahota also played factors.

Long forgotten was the squeaking into Provincials as the kids showed what their parents knew they were capable of, losing out to nemesis Delta in the final after almost coming out on top during round robin play against the Footmen. Well done boys!

The U14's meanwhile found themselves struggling with the details on the opening day, and before the day was over they were 0 and 2 and their Provincials were over. The 'Runners did salvage some pride on day 2 with a victory in the last game against Adanacs, a team they hadn't beaten in 2 previous attempts. The eventual medalists were all Island and Interior teams which proved to be well above the rest of the Tier 2 competitors.
